Today I went for my first real run since December. I call it a real run because it was outside and not on the treadmill at the gym. I'm a baby when it comes to darkness, damp and cold, so my training has suffered because of it over the past couple of months. Wintertime and I don't really get along so famously. Being out in the sunshine, running made me remember why I enjoy it.
It makes me happy
I never end a run in a bad mood, but I have definitely left my house in a piss poor mood, gone for a run and returned home fully satisfied. Running releases all sorts of wonderful hormones and endorphins that put us in fabulous moods and calm us.
It allows me to eat
I love food that tastes good and I love to be able to enjoy a glass of wine and I love not having to count the calories I have consumed. I need to feed my muscles and my body and for that, food is a must.
It makes me smarter
I am not sure why, but I'm certain my brain functions more efficiently because I run. Probably has something to do with increased blood flow due to cardiovascular activity. It's awesome.
My workout gear is cute
I look good in my lulus because I run, it's a fact.
It gives me attainable goals
Running gives me an opportunity to achieve new goals. Whether it's increasing speed or distance, adding more hills or uneven terrain, there is always something more I can strive for.
It helps me live longer
Everyone knows exercise is good for you and will increase your lifespan. I am all for spending more time on this planet, surrounded by wonderful friends and family.
Running is pretty much awesome and everyone should do it. The end.

About Me
- Theresa
- I live in a world that includes diseased unicorns and fairies. I have a wealth of cynicism and good looks. I enjoy rainy days and long walks on polluted beaches. I can find the ridiculousness in most situations, especially anything involving my children.
